Canada will pursue a return to the FIFA World Cup through Concacaf qualifying for the 2030 tournament, which will be co-hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco from June 13 to July 21, with centenary celebration matches in Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina on June 8 and 9.

Six teams from the Concacaf region will earn automatic berths to the 48-team tournament, with a seventh spot potentially available through the intercontinental playoff. World Cup qualifying begins in September 2027.

Canada currently ranks third in the Concacaf region with a FIFA ranking of 30, behind Mexico (10) and the United States (16). Based on that ranking, Canada will likely earn a bye to the second round of qualifying, skipping the first round which includes Concacaf teams ranked 14–35.

The second qualifying round, starting in September or October 2027, will divide 24 teams into six groups of four. Canada is expected to be a heavy favourite to advance from that stage. The final round will pit 12 remaining teams into three groups of four, with the top two from each group advancing directly to the World Cup. The two best third-place finishers will compete in a home-and-away playoff in November 2029, with the winner earning a spot in the intercontinental playoff.

Canada's 2026 World Cup run ended in the Round of 16 following a 3–0 loss to Morocco, with the team posting a 2–2–1 record in group play.
