Thursday's warming up — theatre, live music, and a solid commute ahead.

Morning. It's a decent Thursday — bit warmer than what we've had, mostly cloudy, and you've got a solid 16 and a half hours of daylight to work with. UV's running high at 6.0, so if you're out at lunch or heading to one of the shows tonight, a bit of sunscreen won't hurt. Sunset's not until 9:50, so the evening's got real length to it.

Road-wise, nothing's jumped out as a major headache for the commute this morning. Keep an eye on foothills conditions and cameras if you're heading west toward the mountains, but the usual routes should move.

On the local front, the airport's had some decent news — jumped 26 spots in the global rankings, which is a solid little win for YYC. On the heavier side, there was a stabbing downtown yesterday that sent someone to hospital with serious injuries. Worth being aware of if you're moving around the core.

If you're thinking lunch, keep an eye out: Thai Siam's opening a second spot near Chinook Centre next week. Flat Boy Burgers has also landed in town if you're after smash patties, and Wing Stop's coming on the 19th if that's your thing. Made By Marcus is up to nine locations now, so plenty of options scattered around.

Tonight's got some real energy if you're going out. Come From Away's running at both Theatre Calgary's Max Bell Theatre and The Palace at 7:30 — solid choice if you want something warm and human. The Palace also has Wintersleep at 7:00 if you're leaning live rock. The Stampeders are at Jack Singer Concert Hall at the same time if you want to catch them. Pick your mood and go.

Weekend's shaping up too — Lou Barlow's coming Friday with indie vibes, then Napalm Death and an ABBA tribute on Saturday, and Maren Morris on Sunday. Plenty to choose from.

Have a good one out there.
