Thursday's cool and clear — get out while the sun's hanging around.
9°C and mostly cloudy. Sunset's not till 9:54 PM, so you've got time.
Morning, Cal. It's 9°C out there and mostly cloudy — layer up for the commute but know you'll probably shed something by midday. The UV's running high at 6.0, so if you're spending time outside, that sunscreen's worth the two seconds. Tonight doesn't drop till after 9:54 PM, so you've got a real long evening ahead if you want to use it.
Roads are moving. Check the Foothills if you're heading out that way — cameras are up and conditions are being tracked, so you'll get the real picture before you head out.
Couple of things worth knowing this week: the Surge just snapped a brutal 10-game skid with a three-pointer barrage that got the whole place buzzing again. If you've got kids waiting on disability support here in Alberta, the waitlist has ballooned to three-plus years — it's a real issue families are wrestling with. On the brighter side, Gabriella Durante from the Dinos just became the first woman from the U of C program drafted into a pro women's hockey league, which is genuinely cool. And if you've been eyeing High River's aquatic facility, it's reopening this fall after a $29.3-million expansion — worth the wait if you're down that way come September.
If you're thinking lunch, there's Vietnamese breakfast landing on 17 Avenue this month, so keep an eye out for that. Naha Cafe brought Okinawa vibes to Dragon City Mall if you want something different, and Pho Pham's opened a third spot in Chinatown if you've got a regular order. Village Brewery's also revived a historic lager — worth checking out if you're into what's brewing locally right now.
Tonight's a good one if you want to get out. Joe List is at the Laugh Shop at 7:00 PM if comedy's your move, or Come From Away is running at Theatre Calgary's Max Bell Theatre at 7:30 PM if you want live theatre. Both are solid if you've got the energy after work.
SAIT's Spring Convocation is happening at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium this morning and again at 1:00 PM if that's on your radar.
Get out there. You've got daylight for hours yet.
