Saturday's got music, sports, and a long light — grab it.

Morning — it's Saturday, June 20th, and you've got 16 and a half hours of daylight to work with. Sun sets at 9:54 PM, so if you're planning an evening thing, you've got room to move. It's 10°C out there, mostly cloudy, and the UV is sitting at 8 — that's high, so if you're spending the day outside, you'll want sunscreen even though it doesn't feel scorching.

Weather's dry, which means the parks are calling if you want to get out and move around. Not beach weather, but decent for walking or grabbing a patio brunch somewhere if that's your style.

On the roads, nothing major flagged for disruptions today, so you're clear to get where you need to go.

Locally, a couple things worth knowing: Two Calgarians got arrested in Ontario on fraud warrants that were five years old — that one's been hanging over their heads for a while. Also, the guy who assaulted a transit driver back in May last year just got sentenced to four years. That was a brutal one, and it's done now.

If you haven't eaten yet and brunch is on the menu, Wingstop just opened their first Alberta location this week over at Deerfoot Meadows if you want to try it. Stacked Pancake is opening June 24 up in Okotoks if you're heading that way — worth marking down for next week.

Tonight's properly stacked. The Stampeders play Saskatchewan at McMahon at 5:00 PM — if football's your thing, that's your move. After that, you've got choices: Barenaked Ladies are at Spruce Meadows at 7:00 PM (outdoor, so bring a layer), Ne-Yo and Akon are at the Saddledome at 8:00 PM, Joe List is doing comedy at The Laugh Shop at 6:30 PM, and if you're after Broadway, Come From Away is running at Theatre Calgary's Max Bell Theatre at 7:30 PM. Pick your mood — there's something for everyone.

Since you've got almost until 10:00 PM before dark, you could feasibly do an afternoon thing, grab dinner, and make an evening show without feeling rushed.

Get out there and make something of the light.
