Sunday light — matinee time, live music tonight, watch the Deerfoot.

It's a proper Sunday — eight degrees and cloud cover, so layer up if you're heading out, but the UV's running high at 7.0, so sun protection matters even when it doesn't feel blazing. You're looking at daylight until 9:55 tonight, which means plenty of time to move around town.

One thing to know if you're driving: there's a collision on 130 Ave eastbound where it meets the Deerfoot northbound, right lane blocked, emergency crews on scene. Nothing you can't work around, but worth knowing if that's anywhere near your route.

If you haven't caught Come From Away yet, Theatre Calgary's got a matinee at 2 p.m. at the Max Bell — that's a solid Sunday afternoon move. Later, if live music is your thing, John Butler Trio is playing the Palace Theatre at 7 tonight. That timing works perfectly if you want dinner first and then head to a show.

Food-wise, worth thinking about what's coming down the line: Wingstop opens its first Alberta spot this week at Deerfoot Meadows if you've been curious about that chain. And if you're thinking Canmore this month, Hunter steakhouse is opening — bit of a drive, but the kind of thing worth planning ahead for.

Locally, All Sport One Day is happening today too — 55 free activities across Calgary gyms if you want to try something new without the commitment or the cost. That's a low-stakes way to kill an hour.

Enjoy the daylight while you've got it, and warm up with a proper dinner tonight. This is the kind of Sunday that asks you to get out, not hunker down.
