Warm Thursday ahead—live music, new spots, and a long evening.

Morning's mild at 11°C and partly cloudy, which means you can dress light for the commute. UV's sitting at 7—that's high, so if you're out most of the day, sunscreen's worth grabbing. You've got a long one ahead too: sunset's not until 9:55 PM, so plenty of daylight to work with.

No major road drama on the commute this morning. Check the Foothills if you're heading that way, but nothing's shutting things down.

Couple of things worth knowing as you move through the day. A new events calendar just launched to pull together all Calgary's scattered listings—no more digging through five different sites to find what's on. Also worth noting: police are kicking off a multi-month downtown safety push, so you might see more presence in the core if you work or spend time around there.

If you're thinking lunch or dinner, Native Tongues Taqueria's opening a Bridgeland location—worth keeping on your radar. And if you're the type who gets excited about mashups, Kraft Dinner's launching a ramen collaboration across Canada in July, so that's coming.

Tonight's where it gets fun. You've got three solid shows to pick from depending on your mood. Country Thunder Alberta's starting at The Confluence at 6:00 PM if you want to get into the festival vibe early. Jack Botts is playing Commonwealth Bar & Stage at 7:00 PM if you're after something live and intimate. Or if theatre's more your speed, Come From Away's at The Palace Theatre at 7:30 PM—worth grabbing tickets if you haven't caught it yet. Pick your sound, grab drinks after, and make it a proper Thursday night.

Weekend's shaping up too: Country Thunder runs through Sunday with The Red Clay Strays, Kane Brown, and Lainey Wilson if you want to commit to the full festival run. Come From Away's playing nightly if you prefer staying in the city and catching theatre instead.

Stay warm out there, and enjoy the length of this one—you've earned it.
