That's the kind of thing that matters when you're thinking about the city's bones.
If you're eating out, Naan Tale just opened in Ramsay bringing proper classical Indian technique to the neighbourhood — worth trying if you're in that corner. Native Tongues Taqueria's opening a Bridgeland location too, if you've been waiting for them to land closer to home. On the flip side, Calan Beef Noodle's closing its downtown spot after six years, so if you've got a favorite bowl there, tonight might be your last chance.
Tonight's the real story though. You've got three solid options depending on your mood. St. Paul & The Broken Bones are playing Spruce Meadows at 7 p.m. if you want soul and energy. Come From Away's at The Palace Theatre at 7:30 p.m. if you want Broadway — it's been going strong here. Or lean into Country Thunder at Fort Calgary, which runs all weekend and kicks off at 11 a.m. today with The Red Clay Strays, Kane Brown, and Lainey Wilson. That's three days of it, so you can dip in whenever the mood hits. If you want something lower-key, there's Kingdoom at Pawn Shop Live at 7 p.m., or World Famous Fridays (rap night) at Commonwealth Bar at 10 p.m., and that one's free with an RSVP.
