Light rain, live music, and plenty to do this Saturday.

It's 12 degrees out there and light rain's settled in, so you'll want a jacket and maybe an umbrella if you're heading out for the day. The UV's running high at 6, so if you do get a break in the clouds, that sun'll find you—sunscreen still counts on grey days. You've got a solid 16.5 hours of daylight, which means sunset doesn't hit until 9:55 PM, so there's plenty of evening left to play with once the rain clears.

Roads look good across town, so no major headaches getting where you need to go.

On the news side, there's some heavier stuff moving through the courts—a youth manslaughter case, and details coming out about a fatal crash that killed a young Calgary girl. The Stampeders coach is rallying the community to help his sick daughter, which has been a big story locally. Not all cheerful, but worth knowing what's happening in the city.

If you're thinking food today, Native Tongues Taqueria's opening a new spot in Bridgeland, and there's a lot of buzz around Naan Tale over in Ramsay if you're craving solid classical Indian technique. Calan Beef Noodle wrapped up their downtown run after six years, so if that was your spot, worth knowing they're gone. And heads up for later in the year—Shake Shack's opening Canada's first drive-thru location here in the fall, which is pretty wild.

For tonight, you've got options depending on your mood. There's a soccer match at McMahon—Calgary Wild FC taking on Halifax Tides FC at 5:00 PM if you want to catch some live football. If live music is more your thing, Stephen Sanchez is playing Spruce Meadows at 7:00 PM, or there's Cirque Du Rave happening at Pawn Shop Live at 9:00 PM for something more experimental. Theatre folks should know Come From Away is running at The Palace—there's a matinee at 2:00 PM and an evening show at 7:30 PM if you want to settle in for something solid. And if you've got kids or just love the chaos, Monster Trucks All Out is running at the Strathmore Stampede Grounds starting at 11:00 AM and again at 4:30 PM.

With the rain light and the evening long, pick a roof and a vibe. Whether it's watching the Wild, catching live music, or losing yourself in theatre, there's something worth doing today.

Stay dry out there.
