Monday's cooler but sunny—Stampede's still rolling.

It's a proper cool start this morning—8°C and sunny, which is a shift from what we've had lately. The UV's running high at 7.0, so if you're heading outside for any stretch, throw on sunscreen; that Calgary sun doesn't mess around even when it's crisp. You've got 16 hours and 22 minutes of daylight today, so sunset's not until 9:52 PM—plenty of time to get out and back if you're planning an evening somewhere.

Commute-wise, nothing major flagged for disruptions today, so you should be good on the usual routes. If you're heading to the Stampede or anywhere in that direction, just give yourself the normal buffer and you'll be fine.

The Stampede's still in full swing, and there's actual rodeo action happening this afternoon at GMC Stadium starting at 1:30 PM if you can slip away. Worth catching if you get the chance. Beyond that, it's been a strong Stampede so far—bareback rider Richmond Champion just wrapped up with a dominant 90-point final ride, and Jenna Dallyn's advanced to the first-ever ladies breakaway roping championship happening this Sunday.

If you're thinking about food, there's a new spot that just opened in the SE called Revelwoods Tavern & Terrace doing Southern comfort food and cocktails if you want to try somewhere fresh. Downtown's also got a new Parisian-style café in the mix if pastries and a proper coffee are what you're after. Fair warning: 19 Calgary restaurants and bars have closed so far this year, so when something new opens, it's worth a shot.

Tonight's where it gets busy. The Stampede's got Nashville North kicking off at 5:00 PM over at Stampede Park, and if live music's your thing, you've got options—Badlands Music Festival with Knock2 at 6:00 PM, Matthew Good at the Wildhorse at 6:00 PM, and Yung Gravy at National Saloon the same time. Pick your vibe and your crowd; it's going to be warm enough for standing around outside if Nashville North calls to you, and everything else is covered either way.

Monday's shaping up as one of those days where you can squeeze in work and still catch something fun before the sun's finally down after 10 PM. Take the cool morning as a gift.
