Monday's light — catch your breath before the week hits.

It's 14 degrees and partly cloudy this morning — decent for a Monday. UV's running high at 7.0, so if you're spending time outside, don't sleep on the sunscreen. You've got a full 15 hours and 55 minutes of daylight, with sunset at 9:40 PM, so there's plenty of evening left if you want to grab a walk or sit on a patio after work.

Commute-wise, nothing major showing up on the radar this morning, so you should be alright getting where you need to be. Keep an eye on the Foothills if you're heading that way — road conditions can shift, and the cameras are your friend if things get weird.

On the news side: Parker's disappearance is now in its fourth day, and RCMP have joined Calgary police with over 300 people searching for the missing 11-year-old. It's heavy stuff, and the whole city's holding tight. There's also real pressure building on our local food system — payment delays through Spud are squeezing small producers hard right now, which is worth knowing if you care about where your groceries come from. On a lighter note, construction's slowing across Calgary, but builders are saying demand's still outpacing supply, so the housing squeeze isn't going anywhere fast.

If you're hungry, An Sang just opened on the Red Mile with Vietnamese breakfast as their focus — pho and morning food done right if that's your lane. Worth a try if you're tired of the same breakfast rotation.

Tonight's quiet. Mondays in Calgs don't usually pop, so lean into something low-key — grab dinner somewhere cozy like Bun & Brie if you want to stay close to home, or just cook something simple and call it early. Tomorrow's got Clue at the Jubilee if you want theatre, but there's no reason to push yourself tonight.

Weather holds, daylight's long, and the week's just getting started. Take the win on the commute and ease in.
