Wednesday's your day for new spots and soccer under the sun
Partly cloudy and warm, decent light till late. Grab dinner somewhere fresh, then catch the Wild at McMahon tonight.
It's a solid Wednesday morning — 15°C, partly cloudy, and you've got a full fifteen hours of daylight to work with. The UV's running high at 8.0, so if you're spending the afternoon outside, sunscreen's doing real work today. Sunset's not till 9:37, so there's time to move around after work.
Nothing major tying up the commute this morning, so you're good to move.
A couple of things on people's minds around town: the search for missing Calgary boy Parker has expanded to Nose Hill and Confederation Park as the community keeps mobilizing. It's the kind of thing that hits different when it's someone from here. On another heavy note, a Calgary man charged with murdering his ex-wife has been ordered for a mental-state assessment.
Looking ahead a few days, smoke from BC wildfires is likely to drift into Calgary later this week, so keep that in mind for outdoor plans coming up.
If you're thinking about dinner, there's fresh action on the food front. An Sang opened on the Red Mile with Vietnamese breakfast and pho-focused morning service if you want to swing by. Italian Centre Shop also opened a brand new 22,000-square-foot location at Northland Village Mall today — that's worth a look if you've got a minute and you're in that corner of town. And if you've been curious about Hawaiian food in Calgary, worth exploring that too.
Tonight, the Calgary Wild take on Ottawa Rapid FC at McMahon Stadium at 7:00 PM. It's a solid Wednesday night if you want to get out — the weather's decent for being in the stands, and the match starts at a reasonable hour if you're thinking about a work night out. If live soccer isn't your thing, Clue is running at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium at 7:30 PM, so there's indoor theatre if you'd rather stay warm and sit down.
Otherwise, it's a normal Wednesday. Get through the day, grab something good to eat, maybe catch one of those evening plans if they land right. Weather's cooperating, light's staying late, and the city's got a few new reasons to wander around.
Stay sharp out there.
