Tuesday morning: cool start, three live acts tonight, stay sharp on the roads.

Morning's sitting at 10 degrees and mostly cloudy, so grab a layer before you head out. UV's running high at 6.0, so if you're spending time outside today, sunscreen still matters even though the sun's not blazing through. You've got a full 15 hours and change of daylight — sunset's at 9:18 PM, so there's plenty of evening left if you want to catch something after work.

Keep your eyes open on the roads today. There's been serious trouble on Stoney Trail with a wrong-way crash that left four dead and four injured — conditions or debris might still be affecting flow depending on when you're driving through that area. The usual Foothills road reports are worth checking if you're heading out that direction, and the Deerfoot's always a wildcard, so leave early if you need to be somewhere on time.

A few things worth knowing this morning: rescuers have had to abandon a search tunnel looking for 11-year-old Parker due to low oxygen levels — that's ongoing and hitting hard for the whole city. There's also been a disturbance call in Rosscarrock that ended with a man's death, and police are still investigating. On the transit side, two people were shot in an argument aboard a CTrain that spilled onto the platform, so if you're riding today, stay aware of what's around you.

If you're hungry, there's plenty happening. Cold Garden in Inglewood just launched a wine line at their taproom if you want to try something new. A&W's giving away free root beer floats today for National Root Beer Float Day — easy win if you're grabbing lunch. There's also word on solid burger spots around town worth a detour, and if you're craving something sweet, Tat's Treats in Marda Loop has built a whole soft-serve cereal empire from what started as a pregnancy craving — worth the trip if you're in the area.

Tonight's got three solid live music options if you're looking to get out. Metal and hardcore is on at The Arrowhead at 6 PM with Kataklysm and Six Feet Under. Blue Rodeo's playing the Grey Eagle at 8 PM if you want classic rock. And if soul's more your speed, Thee Sacred Souls and The Womack Sisters are at the Jubilee at 8 PM. Pick your vibe and go — it's the kind of Tuesday night that's worth leaving the couch for.

Stay sharp out there, and enjoy the extra daylight if you get outside.
