Monday's got Beach Boys vibes and a solid commute window

Morning. It's Monday, which means the commute's the first thing on your mind. Road report's looking clear on the Foothills corridor, so you've got a decent run. The Henday and Deerfoot are your usual suspects if you're heading through the core—nothing out of the ordinary this morning, so settle in and move with the flow.

Weather-wise, mostly cloudy and sitting at 16°C, which is pleasant enough for early fall. UV's running at 6.0, which is high, so if you're grabbing coffee outside or taking a lunch break, throw some sunscreen on. Sunset's at 8:39 PM, so you've got fourteen-plus hours of daylight—solid for getting things done or squeezing in an evening walk if work doesn't eat your whole day.

Couples things worth knowing as the week kicks off. Alberta's debt delinquency is the highest in Canada right now at 2.45 per cent, and small-business owners in Cowtown are feeling the squeeze with the trade deal falling apart—the Chamber's flagging that federal support's going to matter. On the school side, the province is taking another pass at the flag policy to clear up some of the confusion that's been floating around.

If you're thinking about where to grab lunch, Mission's Rajdoot is back open after its loyal customers literally stepped in to save the place. That's the kind of neighbourhood win worth celebrating. McDonald's has rolled out a World Heist menu with global dishes if you want to try something different without leaving your usual spot. And if you've been meaning to check out Mount Pleasant Vintage—that Vancouver bar-and-thrift hybrid thing—it just landed in the Beltline, so that's on the radar. Quick heads-up: if you've picked up Greek yogurt from Costco recently, there's a recall in play over potential mould, so double-check what you've got at home.

Tonight's got some energy. The Beach Boys are at the Grey Eagle at 8:00 PM if you're looking to shake off Monday with some nostalgia and live music. Grab a drink, sing along to the hits, and let the daylight carry you through the evening.

This week's got some solid things brewing too—globalFEST is taking over Spruce Meadows this weekend with music and fireworks if you want to get ahead on planning.

Keep your head down, move steady, and see you on the other side of Monday.
