Clear skies and a rare warm one—make the most of it.

Morning. You've caught one of the better days—18°C and clear skies, which honestly feels like a gift right now. UV's sitting at 6 (high), so if you're spending the afternoon outside, sunscreen's worth it. You've got about 13 hours and 51 minutes of daylight, sunset at 8:33 PM, so there's real evening left if you want it.

Road-wise, nothing's jumping out as a disaster this morning. Foothills conditions are worth checking if you're heading that way, but otherwise you're clear for the regular commute. The water main work on the west side is still on track for a December finish, so just the usual fall restrictions to keep in mind as the weather shifts.

Couple of things worth knowing: a black bear got nabbed in Diamond Valley after weeks of raiding garbage and composts—so if you're out that way or have family there, bins are secure again. Also, the police watchdog found grounds for criminal charges in a case involving an autistic boy's skull fracture, but Crown declined to prosecute. It's the kind of story that sits with you.

If you're hungry, Rajdoot in Mission is back in business. The place is a Calgary legend, and loyal customers stepped up to save it when things looked rough—worth stopping by if you've got a craving. Starbucks is rolling out their fall menu starting Tuesday too, so the pumpkin spice crowd can start counting down. There's also a new bar-and-thrift hybrid called Mount Pleasant Vintage that just landed in the Beltline if you're looking for something different.

Tonite's got options if you're not ready to call it a work day. globalFEST is running at both Spruce Meadows and Elliston Park—fireworks and live music if you want to get out. If comedy's more your speed, Mayce Galoni's at The Laugh Shop at 8. Nothing's screaming at you though; Thursday's got that low-key vibe. Whatever you pick, you've got the daylight and the weather for it.

Weekend's looking loaded if you're planning ahead—Queen tribute, Lord of the Rings in concert, and the Great Outdoors Comedy Fest all happening. But that's for later.

Stay warm out there.
