It's a proper start to the week — 10°C out there, which beats what we've had, so layer up but don't overdo it. Partly cloudy all day, UV's at 4, and you've got until 7:37 PM to get outside if that's in your plans. Sun's dropping earlier every morning now, so clock it.

Road-wise, things are looking clear for your commute. Nothing major flagged this morning, so you should be fine getting where you need to be without any unexpected delays.

A few things worth knowing around town: Five SAIT students are heading to Shanghai this week to compete at WorldSkills — good on them. On the tougher side, there was a serious motorcycle collision in Rosscarrock Saturday night, so if you're riding, keep your head on. The ECCO recycling fire that's been burning for two weeks is still going, and a petition calling for the place to close permanently is sitting at nearly 1,000 signatures. And City Council gave the nod to a 500-person Hindu temple in the northeast, which is a solid addition to the neighbourhood.

If you're hungry, Pizza Culture got some real recognition — they landed on the 50 Top Pizza list as the only Canadian spot in the top 80. That's worth remembering next time you want proper pizza. Revelwoods Tavern just opened in the southeast too, in the old Bookers space, bringing Southern comfort food into the mix. A few new international chains are landing in Calgary this fall as well, so the food scene's got some fresh energy.
