Tuesday's chilly but clear—head out before dark.

It's a crisp Tuesday morning—8°C and partly cloudy, so layer up if you're stepping outside. You've got good light until 7:03 tonight, so if you're thinking about a walk in one of the parks before the sun drops, this is your window. UV's mild at 3.0, so sunscreen's optional but not a bad call.

Check the foothills road conditions and cameras if you're heading out that way—nothing major flagged for the city proper, but it's always worth a quick look before you head into the southwest or west.

A couple of things worth knowing. The city's made a pitch to Ottawa asking for tariff relief on a $308 million infrastructure hit—that's the kind of conversation happening in the background. On the criminal side, two people have been charged in a $1 million fraud scheme that targeted students and immigrants here in Calgary, so stay sharp if you're in those communities or know folks who are.

If you're planning to eat out, be careful with sushi this week. Four confirmed cases of E. coli at Kinjo Mahogany have been traced back to a September 18 meal, so steer clear for now while they sort it out. On the brighter side, Tipsie just opened in Kensington in that iconic wine bar space—chef-driven small plates if you're in the mood for something new. Fair warning though: Yellow Door Bistro, Weaselhead, Koko, and Ricardo's Hideaway are all closing, so if any of those were your spots, get in while you can. On the flip side, there's plenty of new energy—iQ Food Co just opened at The Core, and Tony Roma's is back.

Tonight's a Tuesday, so live music doesn't kick in until Thursday. If you want to get out, a walk around one of the neighbourhoods before dark is your best bet, or hunker down at a brewery and warm up—places like The Inspector Cluzo have the right vibe for an evening in. Once the weekend rolls around, there's rock and metal Thursday through Saturday if you're keen on that, hockey Friday night, and some solid drama if you want to binge at home.

Keep it steady out there. See you tonight.
