Clear skies, cool morning—get outside while you can.
4°C and crisp today; commute's clean. A couple of things worth knowing before you head out.
It's a straight Wednesday—4 degrees, clear skies, and you've got almost 11 and a half hours of daylight before the sun dips at 7:01 PM. UV's sitting at 3.0, so you'll want a layer if you're heading out for any real time outside. Wind's not making noise this morning, so dress for the cold without the drama.
Roads are looking good for your commute. Nothing's screaming at you from the major routes, so you should be sorted getting where you need to go.
Couple of local things on your radar: police grabbed a driver doing 195 on Highway 2 near Okotoks recently—well above what anyone needs to be moving. Also keep an eye out if you were at Kinjo Mahogany on September 28—there's been four confirmed E. coli cases traced back to a meal around that date. If you're thinking about it, get in touch with them or your doctor.
If you're hungry today, a heads-up that Tipsie just opened in Kensington, taking over that iconic wine bar space with chef-driven small plates if you want to try something new. Yellow Door Bistro, Weaselhead, Koko, and Ricardo's Hideaway are closing their doors, so if those spots meant something to you, now's the time to say goodbye. On the flip side, iQ Food Co is settling in at The Core, and Tony Roma's is back in town if you've been missing either one.
Tonight there's The Inspector Cluzo playing at The Palomino—7:00 PM if you want to catch some live music. With the clear skies and decent light until seven, it's a good day to actually get outside for a walk before dark. Grab a coffee somewhere, take a loop through a real park while you've got the conditions, then head in and settle with something good for the evening.
Stay warm out there.
