Saturday's warm and bright, but a wind warning's on. Plenty to do before the gusts pick up tonight.

Clear skies and wind—get out while you can this morning

Morning, it's a proper fall day out there—6°C but clear and sunny, which means if you're thinking of getting outside, do it sooner rather than later. There's a wind warning in effect, so expect the gusts to build through the afternoon and into tonight. Sun sets at 6:40, so you've got a solid 10 and a half hours of daylight to work with. UV's mild at 2.0, so no drama on the sunscreen front.

If you're heading out to the foothills, grab a quick look at road conditions before you go—nothing major flagged yet, but the wind's going to be a factor out that way as it picks up.

On the home front: if you're in Eagle Ridge or over near Heritage Park, you might've heard about the boil water advisory—about 100 homes got hit after a main depressurization. Worth checking if you're affected and keeping an eye on updates. Also heads up that water restrictions are coming back November 4 once the Bearspaw South feeder main replacement wraps up, so start thinking about your lawn habits now.

There's been some rougher news in the NE this morning—a pedestrian was assaulted and then struck by a backing vehicle. Nothing you can control, but worth staying aware.

If you're thinking lunch, pho's having a moment—there's some real standouts worth seeking out around town if you're in the mood. And if you've got time this weekend, Luc's European Meats just opened a Calgary spot with a genuine 70-kilogram cheese wheel they're showing off. That's the kind of opening day energy worth checking out. The Deerhead Cafe's also had a wild week—after the family put out a call, the community showed up hard yesterday with record Saturday traffic. Worth stopping by if you're in the area.

Sports-wise, the Hitmen take on the Red Deer Rebels at the Saddledome at 1:00 PM, so that's a solid daytime option if you want to be inside for a bit.

Once the sun drops and the wind really gets going, the evening's got some live music lined up. Bear Ghost's playing Dickens Pub at 7:00 PM with Sarah and the Safe Word and Spaceman Bob if you're into that scene. There's also Matt Sassari at Commonwealth later on if you want to stay out. Just dress for the wind and maybe grab your pint indoors—it's not a night for a patio.

Get out and enjoy the daylight while it's there. See you around.
