Calgary police have charged 19 people with 59 offences in the ongoing extortion-shooting series that's seen 51 extortion-related incidents since April 2025, with 19 shootings linked to the cases. Latest charges relate to a March case where a woman was extorted and threatened—someone knew her name, address, business, and family details. About 12 hours after the demands, a gun was fired at her home. Two people charged with extortion in that case, one a 17-year-old; a third person is wanted on a warrant for a stolen vehicle used in the shooting.
