Eligible Canadians should watch for several government benefit deposits this week.

The Canada Disability Benefit payments arrive Thursday, June 18. The Canada Child Benefit, along with Ontario and B.C. counterparts, deposits Friday, June 19.

The Canada Disability Benefit provides financial assistance to Canadians aged 18 to 64 living with a disability. Applications opened last June and continue online. If you qualify, payments begin the month after your application is approved.

Canadians who received invitation letters from Service Canada can apply using their unique six-digit code. Those without a letter can still apply if they have a spouse or common-law partner and both filed 2024 federal income tax returns.

Eligibility includes Canadian citizens, permanent residents, temporary residents who've lived here 18 months, protected persons, and individuals registered under the Indian Act. You can also apply if you're between 18 and 64 and already approved for the Disability Tax Credit.

Maximum payments from July 2025 to June 2026 are $2,400, or $200 monthly. The amount adjusts annually for inflation. Back payments are possible—retroactive up to 24 months from application receipt, though not before June 2025.

For the Canada Child Benefit, families saw a 2.7 per cent boost in July 2025. Annual payments for children under six increased from $7,787 to $7,997 ($666 monthly). For children aged six to 17, annual payments went from $6,570 to $6,748 ($562 monthly). The Child Disability Benefit rose from $3,322 to $3,411.

Parents can expect another increase in July 2026 based on a two per cent indexation bump. The base child benefit for kids under six will reach $8,157 next year, up $160. For children six to 17, it rises to $6,883, up $135. The maximum Child Disability Benefit will be $3,480, a $69 increase.
