Two children are dead after a utility terrain vehicle crash in the northern B. C. community of Pouce Coupe.

Dawson Creek RCMP responded to a report of a UTV rollover on June 4 just after 1 p. m. Five young children were in the vehicle when the driver lost control, causing it to roll several times over a considerable distance.

An eight-year-old boy died at the scene. The driver, a seven-year-old girl, was airlifted to hospital in critical condition but later died of her injuries. The three other children sustained minor injuries.

B. C. RCMP Staff Sergeant Kris Clark said the families' loss is unimaginable and tragic.
