Sunday rain: brunch, Cirque, and live music indoors

It's wet out there — 17°C and heavy rain rolling through all day, so whatever you're doing, you're doing it under a roof or with an umbrella. Sunset's at 8:40 tonight, which gives you a solid window for evening plans if the rain lets up for a second. UV's at 5.0, but honestly, the clouds are doing that work for you today.

Circue du Soleil's new show "Echo" is running both a matinee at 1:30 PM (Jacques Cartier Pier or the big top down at the Old Port) and an evening show at 5:00 PM if you want to make an afternoon of it. It's indoors under the tent, so the rain won't touch you. That's your marquee move for the day.

Before that, or instead of it — hit brunch somewhere worth your time. The city's got some seriously good spots this season, and Sunday morning's the move. Jean-Talon's got a casse-croûte that landed at No. 5 on the world burger list, if you're thinking that direction. Or find one of the city's best ice-cream spots and sit with a coffee and something sweet while the rain does its thing outside.

Into live music? "Bach Before Bedtime" is happening at Gesu this morning at 10:30 AM if you want something classical and grounding. Or skip straight to tonight: Daraîche et filles are at the Cabaret du Casino at 4:00 PM, or if you're feeling the full immersion vibe, Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" production is on at Le Dome at 5:30 PM — that one's a whole thing, not just a show.

There's also a Montreal Alliance vs. Edmonton Stingers game at Auditorium de Verdun at 4:00 PM if you're into that scene.

The rain's been steady for two days now, so if you've been cooped up, today's the day to get outside the house and into something. Everything good is covered today — you just need to pick your lane and commit. Stay dry out there.
