Thursday's got serious music—pick your poison tonight.

Morning. It's a cool one out there—17 degrees, partly cloudy, but that UV's sitting at 7.0, which means if you're spending the afternoon outside, you're going to want sunscreen even if it doesn't feel like summer yet. We've got nearly 16 hours of daylight to work with, so sunset's not until 8:47 tonight.

Commute looks clean. No major disruptions flagged, so you're good to move around the city the usual way.

A couple things worth knowing as you move through your day. There's real stuff happening around Fête nationale—some events got cancelled after a shooting, and there's reporting out on what fueled the accused gunman's extremism online. Worth paying attention to. On a lighter note, Brendan Gallagher's getting honoured as a citizen, which is a nice moment for the city. And up in NDG, there was a Power of Sports Walk that raised funds for youth development—the kind of thing that matters quietly.

If you're thinking lunch, there's been some movement in the food world. A Chinatown staple just took a hit with $5K in health violations, so maybe steer clear for a minute while they get sorted. But if you're hunting for something solid, there's fresh reads out on Montreal sandwich spots worth seeking out, plus the city's best hot dogs and bagel rankings if you want to fall down that particular rabbit hole. Montreal's got opinions on these things, and they're usually right.

Tonight's where it gets interesting. The Jazz Fest is in full swing—Ron Di Lauro's playing at Le Gesu at 6 PM if that's your lane. If you want to go full immersion, there's a Dark Side of the Moon experience at Le Dome starting at 5:30 PM, which is a whole thing. And if you're into RnB, soul, and funk, Chanda Holmes is doing The Rewind at Le Balcon X Terrasse at 6 PM. Three very different vibes, all worth considering.

There's also soccer tonight if that's your thing—Roses de Montreal is hosting Ottawa Rapid FC at Stade Boreale at 7 PM.

With sunset not until almost 9 PM, you've got time to move around comfortably. The weather's holding dry, so outdoor spots are fair game for the evening, and the UV's high enough that if you're lingering after dark, it won't bother you.

Have a good one out there.
