Saturday's looking solid — jazz, circus, and plenty of daylight left

Morning. You've got a proper summer Saturday ahead — 16 degrees, partly cloudy, and that UV's sitting at 8, so sunscreen's not a bad call if you're spending real time outside. Sun won't dip until 8:47 tonight, so you've got almost 16 hours to work with.

Festival International de Jazz de Montréal is the headline right now. Jazz all over the place — your lane if you're into live music, and the vibe's usually solid on a Saturday. If you want something for this afternoon and you're keen on theater, Les Misérables is running at Theatre St. Denis at 2 o'clock, or there's Cirque du Soleil: Echo down at Jacques Cartier Pier and the big top in Vieux-Montréal starting at 4 PM — kids love it, adults don't hate it either.

If brunch is on the menu, Le Balcon's got a gospel brunch at 12:30 with Perpetual Praise Ministries if you want something with a bit of soul to it. Otherwise, the usual suspects are going to be packed on a Saturday morning, so hit them early or expect a wait.

Tonight's got options. Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon is playing at Le Dome — multiple showtimes at 1, 4, and 5:30 if you want that kind of immersive thing. Cirque's running again at 4 PM if you didn't catch it earlier. And the jazz fest keeps rolling — live music across the city if that's where your head's at.

On the real stuff: the Habs picked 28th overall in the draft yesterday — Leafs landed McKenna first — and the team just swapped William Trudeau to the Rangers for Brett Berard, so there's movement happening. Meanwhile, the city's putting $540K into renovating 45 units for folks who need housing, which is something. And Dunkin's is coming back to Canada with Montreal as one of the first markets, so that's a thing if you care.

Weather's your friend today. Get out there, catch some live music if the mood hits, or just walk the Mountain if the day's enough. Plenty of light left.
