Tuesday's a scorcher — get outside while the light lasts.

It's a proper summer day rolling in — 21 degrees, feels warmer, and mainly sunny all the way through. The UV's sitting at 8, which is high, so if you're heading out for lunch or taking a walk, the sunscreen move makes sense. You've got until 8:45 tonight, so the light's there if you want it.

On the commute side, there's some réaménagement des voies happening, so give yourself a beat if you're driving in this morning — nothing catastrophic, but the usual lanes are getting shuffled. Heads up too: Highway 40 eastbound is closing this weekend between Côte-de-Liesse and the Laurentians for construction, so if you've got weekend plans up north, plan your route now.

Couple things worth knowing about the city this morning. Notre-Dame's restoration bill just ballooned to $100 million — turns out they found more damage hiding in the walls than anyone expected. And the Château Montebello sale's heating up with local bidders stepping in; the deadline's July 10, so that one's coming to a head fast.

If you're thinking lunch, there's solid energy in the local food scene right now. Four Montreal restaurants just landed on Canada's top 10 new spots for 2026, and if coffee's your thing, four of our cafés made North America's top 100. Nothing like voting with your taste buds to know what's worth trying.

Tonight's got options. If you want to catch something live, there's Oumou Sangaré — that's a rare Montreal stop and worth the trip. Or if you're more in a comedy headspace, Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais is at Théâtre Manuvie at 8. There's also the Canadian swim trials wrapping up at the Parc olympique — finals are at 5:30 if you want to swing by and watch some serious speed.

It's a Tuesday that feels like summer's actually here. Take your time with it.
