Alright, it's going to feel like 28 degrees today even though we're sitting at 22, so that UV index of 6 is actually biting. If you're outside for any length of time—commuting, lunch break on a patio—you'll want the sunscreen. We've got decent daylight until 8:44 PM, so there's time to move around, but the sun's real today.

Nothing major on the commute front, so you're good to move the way you normally do.

Quick heads-up on a few things worth knowing: there's some food recalls floating around Quebec right now—oysters, maple syrup, and protein candy with undeclared allergens—so check what you've got at home if any of that's in rotation. On a brighter note, the Canadiens just brought Derek Lalonde over from Toronto as an assistant coach, which is solid news if you're following the team. And if you're thinking about buying a place or splitting one with someone, there's a new Montreal platform called OWNI that's matching co-home buyers together—could be worth a look depending where you're at.

For eating today, you've got some real options. A couple years back Montreal had some seriously good new restaurants, and the coffee scene here is legit too—four of our cafés landed in North America's top 100. If you're in the mood for smoked meat, readers just ranked five Montreal spots in the 2026 Best of MTL poll, so that's your shortcut if you're craving it. The restaurant industry's also getting some love from the province—three million over five years through La Table Ronde—so the kitchen scene's got some momentum right now.

Tonight's where it gets interesting. If you're into immersive music, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon is running at Le Dome at both 5:30 and 7:00 PM—pick whichever slot works. Over at the Olympic Park's sports centre, the Bell Canadian Swimming Trials are wrapping up with finals at 5:30 PM if that's your thing. And if you want something more experimental, Max Cooper's doing his Feeling Is Structure tour with live AV at the Fairmount Theatre at 7:00 PM—that one's got a different energy entirely.

Weather's going to let you be outside comfortably tonight, so whatever you land on, you're good to move between spots. Sunset's at 8:44, so you've got a long evening to play with.

Stay cool out there.
