Clear skies and 16 degrees — a perfect Saturday in the city.
Sunshine all day, rooftop season in full swing, and plenty to do tonight.
It's finally feeling like summer again after the heat broke. You're looking at mainly sunny skies, 16°C, and a UV index of 7—that's high, so sunscreen if you're spending the day outside. We've got a full 15 and a half hours of daylight to play with, and sunset isn't until 8:43 PM, so you can plan your evening knowing you've got light for a while yet.
Note that gas prices have jumped 5 cents this week with what's happening in the Middle East, so fill up if you're heading out of the city.
It's been a solid week for the city. Quebec and Ottawa just announced $196 million in cultural infrastructure upgrades across the province—Montréal's getting a piece of that. Over in Saint-Michel, they broke ground on a $159 million affordable housing project, which is real progress. And a small note that warmed a lot of people this week: Joseph Mery Arthur, Canada's oldest man, just turned 110 here in Montréal.
For lunch or dinner, you've got options. Rooftop patios are the move right now—city views, cocktails, and weather that actually cooperates. If you're chasing something more grounded, ramen spots have been absolutely dominating what people are eating around here. We've also got four Montreal restaurants that just landed on Canada's top 10 new restaurants for 2026, and if coffee's your thing, four of our cafés ranked in North America's top 100. Not bad.
Tonight's got real range. Cirque du Soleil's Echo is running at Jacques Cartier Pier at 4:00 PM, which is a waterfront experience if you want something immersive. If you're after live theatre, Les Misérables is at Theatre St-Denis at 2:00 PM. There's a Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon immersion at Le Dôme running all afternoon and evening (1:00 PM, 4:00 PM, and 5:30 PM showings), which is exactly the kind of thing that hits right on a clear night like this. Electronic music is happening too—Cloonee's at Parc Jean-Drapeau at 5:00 PM if you want something more open-air. And if you're a football fan, the Alouettes take on Calgary at Percival Molson at 7:00 PM.
Weather's holding all weekend, so whatever you pick, dress light and enjoy the fact that we can actually be outside again.
Stay solid.
