Wednesday heat with jazz on the terrasse—watch the Mercier Bridge.

Morning, it's a warm one already and it's only going to feel warmer—22 degrees but humidity's got it sitting around 27. Mostly cloudy, which means that UV's going to hit you harder than the thermometer says, so if you're out at lunch or heading to a patio later, you'll want the sunscreen. Sun's not down until 8:40, so you've got a solid summer evening ahead.

Heads up on the commute: the Honoré-Mercier Bridge is down to one lane each direction through early August for concrete repairs. If that's your daily crossing, give yourself extra time and maybe scout an alternate route if you can—the Champlain or the tunnel aren't far, depending where you're headed. Nothing new on the métro, so the 514's moving normal otherwise.

Couple things worth knowing this morning. Rent's been climbing here while most of Canada's seen prices drop—we went up 2 percent last year, which is a reminder to anyone renewing that this city's gotten pricier faster than everywhere else. Also caught that Nadia Comăneci's coming back to Montreal fifty years after she landed that perfect 10 that changed gymnastics forever. That's a moment—worth paying attention to if she's doing anything public while she's here.

If you're thinking lunch, Montreal's ramen spots keep winning the reader votes for best dining in the city, so there's always a solid bowl waiting if you want something quick and warm-weather light. We've also got four restaurants that made the Canada's top 10 new spots for 2026, plus four cafés ranked in North America's top 100 for coffee. Summer's the time to hit the rooftop patios too if you want to eat with a view and a cocktail—the city looks different from up there when the sun's still out this late.

Tonight's got options. If you're in the mood for live jazz on a terrasse, Mercredi Live Jazz X Terrasse is running Alain Oyono at Le Balcon X Terrasse starting at 6:00 PM—perfect timing with the warm weather and the long light. Comedy's on too: Dany Boon's at L'Olympia at 7:00, and Just For Laughs is running something at Le Studio TD at the same time. Les Misérables is at Theatre St. Denis at 7:30 if you want theatre instead. Pick your vibe—jazz outside is going to feel pretty good at this temperature.

Stay cool out there, watch the bridge, and enjoy the daylight while it lasts.
