Thursday heat and rooftops—pick your vibe tonight.

Morning—you'll want sunscreen today. It's 20°C and mostly cloudy, but that UV is sitting at 7 (high), so if you're outside for lunch or the commute, cover up. The good news is we've got a full 15 hours of daylight, and sunset doesn't hit until 8:39 PM, so there's real evening left to play with.

Commute looks clear—nothing flagged this morning, so you're good to move as usual.

A couple of things worth knowing. The city just opened 54 new transitional housing units for homeless women out in NDG, which is solid work. There's also some housing drama closer to home—a Montreal family of nine is living in a trailer parked outside their own duplex while they wait on a tribunal ruling. Not a situation anyone wants to be in, especially mid-summer.

On the food side, if you're thinking lunch or dinner: rooftop patios are firing right now across the city if you want to eat with a view and catch the breeze. Ramen's been voted the move by readers lately, so if that's calling you, there's no shortage of spots. Four Montreal restaurants just landed in Canada's top 10 new restaurants for 2026, and if coffee's your thing, four local cafés ranked in North America's top 100, so quality's there no matter what you're after.

Tonight's got options. CF Montreal plays Toronto FC at Saputo Stadium at 7:30 PM if you're into the match. If you're not a soccer person, there's plenty else: Pink Floyd's immersive Dark Side of the Moon show runs at Le Dome at 5:30 and 7 PM if you want to sink into something hypnotic. Just For Laughs is still rolling—there's comedy at Le Studio TD at 7 PM. Soul jazz and R&B is happening at Le Balcon X Terrasse at 6 PM if you want something groovy. Or if you're in the mood for bigger production, Louis Tomlinson's at Centre Bell, and Cirque du Soleil is running at the pier. With 20°C and mostly cloudy, rooftop patios will be comfortable without blazing heat, so if you're thinking drinks and a view before dinner, that's the sweet spot.

Weekend's already shaping up with Billy Talent and more Cirque coming, so pace yourself tonight.

Stay cool—literally. See you out there.
