Saturday's yours — mostly cloudy, plenty to do till dark.
Catch Cirque or Pink Floyd tonight, eat well, and stay out of the heat if you're driving.
Morning, it's 19 degrees and mostly cloudy — perfect Saturday weather, honestly. You've got solid daylight till 8:38 PM, so plan your evening around that. UV's at 3, which is moderate, so you'll want sunscreen if you're outside for hours, but nothing alarming.
Heads up on the roads: construction holiday's started, and the Sûreté du Québec is running extra patrols on the deadly stretches. If you're heading out of the city or across the South Shore, take it easy and watch your speed — they're not messing around.
Few things worth your attention today. There's a Quebec housing announcement happening at 1 p.m. here in Montreal if you're into that kind of news. In Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension, a third suspect got arrested in connection with a 2022 murder — not directly your problem, but it's been hanging over the neighbourhood. On a brighter note, East Montreal and Quartier Latin just got $2.3 million in government funding for revitalization projects, so something good's coming to those areas.
If you're thinking food, L'Express on Saint-Denis is the move if you want that Paris bistro vibe without the flight — it's the real thing, not a knockoff. Pho's solid at Le Bay Cà Phê if you're after something lighter. And heads up: there's a food safety thing floating around — some Quebec-made Grondines and Lachevrotière cheeses have Staph in them, so check your fridge if you've grabbed either of those recently.
Tonight's where it gets fun. Cirque du Soleil's Echo is running at Jacques Cartier Pier — there's a 12:30 PM matinee if you want to catch that this afternoon, or stick around for the evening show. Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon is on at Le Dome (multiple showtimes), and if you're into electronic, Kaskade's at Parc Jean-Drapeau starting at 5 p.m. All solid options depending on your mood. The weather's cooperating, so any of these work fine outdoors or in.
Rooftop patios are calling today too if you just want to sit with a drink and watch the city. Plenty of them scattered across Montreal have the views and the cocktails sorted.
Enjoy the daylight. See you out there.
