Wednesday's got heat, good vibes, and poutine—let's go

It's warm out there—20 degrees on the clock but it'll feel closer to 26 with the humidity, so dress light and keep the sunscreen close. UV's running high at 6.0, which means even on a cloudy day like today you're catching rays. You've got until 8:34 PM to get outside if you're thinking evening plans, so there's time.

Nothing major tying up your commute this morning, but heads up: if you've been waiting on the city to fill those potholes, you're gonna be waiting longer. Repairs got pushed to August 3, which is honestly pretty Montreal of us at this point.

Couples of things landed in the news overnight. A local guy pleaded guilty to housing fraud that left 24 people homeless—rough stuff. And Michael Hendricks, who was a big deal in the fight for same-sex rights here and was part of Quebec's first legal same-sex marriage, passed away at 84. Worth remembering.

Food-wise, there's a cheese recall floating around—Grondines and Lachevrotière made in Quebec have turned up with staph, so steer clear if you've got them at home. Ground beef out of a Saint-Léonard grocery got flagged too. If you're eating out, L'Express on Saint-Denis is still doing that whole Parisian bistro thing without the airfare, and the pho spots like Le Bay Cà Phê are pulling crowds if you want something lighter in this heat. Rooftop patios are in full swing across the city if you're after a cocktail with a view.

Tonight's got energy. Tame Impala's rolling into the Bell Centre at 7 with Djo—that's the big one if you're into it. If live jazz is more your speed, Remi Cormier's playing at Le Balcon X Terrasse at 6. Or catch Timmy No Brakes at L'Olympia at 7 for some laughs as part of Just For Laughs. Pick your vibe and move on it—good Wednesday nights don't announce themselves twice.

Stay cool, grab some water, and I'll catch you tomorrow.
