Saturday's Clear and Warm — Catch Cirque, Comedy, or the Match Tonight
17 degrees, mainly clear skies, and a full calendar. Get outside early, plan for tonight's shows.
Morning, it's a proper Saturday — 17 degrees, sun's out, and you've got 15 hours of daylight to work with. UV's sitting at 8, which is high, so if you're heading to the Mountain or spending time outside, grab the sunscreen. Sun doesn't drop until 8:31, so you've got plenty of evening left after dinner or drinks.
Head up if you're crossing the bridges or hitting the highways this weekend — major closures are running through Monday on the Montreal-area crossings. Plan your routes around that if you're heading to the South Shore or West Island.
On the food front, if you're hungry for something different, La Soupière Malatong just opened on Ste-Catherine West with customizable Sichuan hot pot — perfect for a lazy Saturday lunch. L'Express over on Saint-Denis is still doing that Parisian bistro thing without the flight, and there's a gospel brunch at Le Balcon at 12:30 if you want to start the day with some soul. Quick heads-up though: skip anything with Grondines or Lachevrotière cheese right now — staphylococcus was just detected in those Quebec-made products. Check your fridge.
Tonight's stacked. CF Montreal's playing Inter Miami at Saputo at 7:30, so if you're into soccer, that's your main event. If live shows are more your speed, Cirque du Soleil's Echo is running at Jacques Cartier Pier at 4:00, and there's a Pink Floyd immersive experience (Dark Side of the Moon) at Le Dome hitting 1:00, 4:00, and 5:30 if you want to catch it. Les Misérables is on at Theatre St. Denis at 2:00. Comedy and music are running late tonight too — grab a drink and make it a proper vibe.
Cold snap's coming eventually: first snow could hit mid-October according to the fall forecast, so we're not out of summer yet, but it's worth knowing. Also, if you've got pets or know someone who does, Proanima's dealing with a record surge of surrenders right now post-Moving Day — they could use the help if you can swing it.
Stay warm, stay sorted.
