Sunday's for Cirque and the Als—mostly cloudy, plenty of time.

Good morning. It's 20 degrees and mostly cloudy out there—nice enough for whatever you've got planned, though the UV is sitting high at 8.0, so if you're spending the day outside, bring sunscreen and don't get caught out. Sun's down at 8:30, so you've got nearly 15 hours of daylight to work with.

Highway-wise, keep in mind there are major closures hitting Montreal-area crossings through Monday if you're heading out of the city today or tonight. Worth timing your move carefully if you're crossing any big bridges or heading to the South Shore or West Island.

On the food front, if you haven't hit La Spada in Saint-Henri yet, they're still there—though they got broken into again recently, which is rough. On better news, there's a new spot called Café Saint-Henri that just opened on the Notre-Dame Basilica courtyard if you're looking for something special. And if you want to try something different, La Soupière Malatang just brought customizable Sichuan hot pot to Ste-Catherine West. One heads-up though: Quebec-made Grondines and Lachevrotière cheeses have had Staphylococcus aureus detected in them, so skip those for now.

Tonight's the real draw. The Alouettes take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium at 7 PM—solid Sunday night energy if you're into the CFL. If you'd rather stay downtown, Cirque du Soleil's Echo is running at Jacques Cartier Pier at both 1:30 PM and 5 PM today, and with the weather holding mostly clear, either slot works. Lucy Darling's playing L'Olympia at 5 PM if live music is more your speed, and there's a Pink Floyd Dark Side immersive show at Le Dome at 5:30 if you want to slip into something trippy.

Real quick on the local side: Camp Valiquette is mixing academics into their summer camp curriculum this year—sports and arts both getting the classroom treatment if you've got kids in that world. And they've arrested a third suspect in that January home invasion and shooting in Sud-Ouest, so that file's moving.

Stay sharp out there, slather on the sunscreen if you're heading out, and enjoy the daylight while you've got it.
