Friday's yours—Osheaga opens, Cirque's on the pier, pick your vibe.

Good morning. It's 19°C and partly cloudy out there—nice walking weather, but that UV's sitting at 8 (high), so if you're spending the day outside, sunscreen isn't optional. You've got solid daylight until 8:24 PM, which means tonight's got real evening stretch in it.

Nothing major tying up the roads this morning, so you're clear to move.

Couple things worth knowing: two Montreal sisters who trained as cancer surgeons at McGill are making waves in their field—worth reading up on if that kind of story hits for you. And heads up on the food front: Quebec's flagged Staphylococcus aureus in Grondines cheese and some other Quebec-made products moving through the region, so check what's in your fridge if you've picked any up lately. Same heads-up on Bacillus cereus in Ledou tofu.

If you're thinking dinner, there's some good openings worth trying. La Soupière Malatang just landed on Ste-Catherine West with customizable Sichuan hot pot—that's the move if you want to build your own bowl. Café Saint-Henri opened up a new spot right on the Notre-Dame Basilica courtyard, which is solid for a quieter moment. And if you're in a Parisian bistro mood without leaving the city, L'Express on Saint-Denis still does it better than most.

Now here's the real Friday energy: Osheaga kicks off tonight at Parc Jean-Drapeau. Festival gates open at 2:00 PM, and if you've got a three-day pass, you're locked in for the whole weekend with Twenty One Pilots, Tate McRae, Lorde and the rest. If you're not the festival type, you've still got options. Cirque du Soleil's *Echo* is running tonight at Jacques Cartier Pier at 4:00 PM—outdoor, so you'll catch that light. Pink Floyd tribute's happening at Le Dome at 5:30 PM if you're feeling classic rock. Ariana Grande's at Centre Bell at 7:00 PM. And if you want something lower-key, there's soul and Motown vibes at Le Balcon X Terrasse starting at 6:00 PM.

Weather's clean for outdoor stuff, so if Osheaga or Cirque are calling you, you're in good shape. Dress for that sun though—8 is real.

Go have a good Friday.
