Sunny, high UV, and the tennis draw is live—catch the vibe.

Morning. It's 18°C and sunny—proper August day. UV is running high at 8.0, so if you're heading outside for any stretch, sunscreen isn't optional. We're looking at 14 and a half hours of daylight; sunset's at 8:17 PM, so you've got real evening left to work with after 5 à 7.

Commute's clean. No major disruptions flagged for the day.

Couple of things moving in the city: Montréal's marking 325 years of the Great Peace this week, and there's a reconciliation pledge and housing strategy getting rolled out—worth paying attention to, especially if you've been watching how the city's changing. Separately, Chinatown's getting a dedicated cleanup crew and a real long-term revitalization plan in motion. Good to see.

On the food side, if you're looking for lunch or dinner, La Soupière just opened a customizable Sichuan hot pot spot on Ste-Catherine West—the kind of thing where you build your own bowl. That's a solid lunch move if you're in that area. If you're after something more classic, L'Express on Saint-Denis still does what it does: feels like a Parisian bistro without the flight. And heads up—Costco's recalling some Cadbury Oreo bars and Alfa Croissants over allergen and mould concerns, so check your stash if you've grabbed either recently.

Tonights where it gets good. The National Bank Open tennis is in full swing—Session 8 starts at 11:00 AM if you can slip away, and the second-round matches fire up again at 6:00 PM at Rogers Court. Denis Shapovalov had to pull from his first-round match earlier in the week, but there's plenty of action to catch. After dark, if tennis isn't your thing, Les Mercredis Jazz X Terrasse at Le Balcon is running live jazz from 6:00 PM—James Correa's playing, weather's going to be perfect for a terrace, and that's the kind of Wednesday night that feels like you're not wasting daylight. If you're after something with more edge, Big Thief's at L'Olympia tonight too. Pick your vibe.

Sunscreen, get outside, and if you can make it to the courts or a terrace this evening, do it. Day like this doesn't stay around.

Talk soon.
