Clear skies, bridge work, and live jazz tonight.

Wednesday's looking sharp—just watch the bridge closures if you're crossing to the South Shore.

Clear skies, bridge work, and live jazz tonight.

Morning, it's a clean one out there. Sixteen degrees, mainly clear, and that UV's sitting at 7—high enough that if you're spending real time outside today, you'll want the sunscreen. You've got just over thirteen and a half hours of daylight, so sunset's at 7:43 if you're planning an evening walk or patio time. The kind of August day that actually feels good.

Quick heads-up on the roads: the Pierre-Laporte Bridge is closing nights from tonight through Sunday the 31st for pavement work. If you're commuting to the South Shore after dark this week, you'll want to factor in the detour or adjust your timing. Highway 15 northbound is also shutting down this weekend between Jean-Talon and Paré for overpass repairs—so if you're heading up the Island or to Laval Saturday or Sunday, plan ahead. The city's got 42 major construction projects rolling through the fall, so this is just the start of it.

Worth knowing: a fourth SPVM officer's been suspended over racial profiling allegations at the Montreal North station. It's part of a bigger conversation that's been happening. And polling-wise, the PQ's sitting at 30 percent heading into the next election cycle, with the Liberals and CAQ tied at 23.

Food-wise, if you're looking for something different, Jacopo in Vieux-Montréal's doing tableside fettuccine carved right out of a hollowed wheel of cheese—proper old-school theatre if you want to treat yourself. Otherwise, keep it simple: a sandwich, bagels, whatever gets you through the day. Just a heads-up that Costco's recalling some Cadbury Oreo bars and Alfa Croissants over allergen and mould concerns, so double-check your freezer if you picked those up recently.

Tonight's got real momentum. Remi Cormier's playing live jazz at Le Balcon starting at 6 PM if you want something easy and good under the clear sky. If you're feeling it, there's also DIDI B at L'Olympia at 7, and Faetooth over at Le Foufounes at 7:30. Weather's perfect to get out—no excuses tonight.

Stay sorted, and watch for that bridge closure if you're heading south after work.
