Saturday's yours—pick your vibe, the weather's holding.

Morning. You've got a solid day ahead—17 degrees, some clouds rolling through, and the UV's running high at 6, so sunscreen if you're out for a while. Sun doesn't set till 7:25, so there's real daylight to work with. Plan accordingly.

Nothing's tearing up your commute today—it's Saturday, so you're free of the usual chaos. If you're heading anywhere, the roads are calm.

Couple things worth knowing: Radio-Canada and the union are looking at a tentative deal that could dodge an autumn strike, with a 14.5% raise on the table. They're voting on it soon. Meanwhile, paramedics are still on strike—negotiations pick back up next week. And if you're hunting for a rental, Villeray-Parc-Extension is the cheapest spot in the city for a one-bedroom right now, if that's on your radar.

On the food front—heads up if you've got Mini Danoise pastries in your place. They're being recalled for undeclared milk, eggs, and soya. Check your fridge. Some other products are flagged too: raw breaded chicken and fish from five Viande à bas prix locations are being pulled for missing cooking instructions. Worth a quick scan if you shop there.

For lunch or tonight: the usual suspects are out there. MUCHO Burrito's running a 2-for-1 on burritos if you're in the mood, though the deal's marked for August 14—check if it's still live. If you want something different, there's solid fast-food beyond McDonald's scattered around the city if you know where to look.

Evening's got options. Unity Electro Fest is running at Parc de la Gare Jean-Talon if electronic's your lane—Illenium, Adventure Club, Nghtmre on the bill. The Lion King's playing at Place des Arts if you want theatre. Josh Johnson's doing comedy at L'Olympia if laughs are what you need. Or catch a Pink Floyd tribute at Le Dome if you're feeling that. Something for every mood, basically.

Weather stays decent through the evening—mostly cloudy, nothing wet on the horizon—so outdoor events should be fine. Pick what calls to you. Long weekend's ahead, so tonight's the first real exhale before Sunday and Monday.

Get out there. Catch you Monday.
