Friday's crisp and clear—time to get out tonight

It's a proper Friday morning—11°C and bright, so yeah, it's dropped since yesterday, but mainly clear skies mean you'll want to dress in layers. The UV's running high at 6.0, so if you're out for lunch or just standing around, your face is still catching it. Sun doesn't set till 7:14, so you've got almost 13 hours of decent daylight to work with. Good news if you're planning to be outside tonight.

If you're driving this morning, the Cavendish overpass is still under reconstruction—nothing new there, but worth remembering if that's your usual route. There's also structural work happening on a few spots across the city, so leave a few extra minutes if you're heading anywhere near active zones. The 514's moving okay otherwise.

Not the cheeriest news cycle, but worth knowing: André Pronovost, who won four Stanley Cups with the Habs back in the day, passed away at 90 this week. The city lost a real piece of hockey history. On a different note, there's been an airbag theft ring busted across four boroughs—if you haven't already, lock your car properly and check that yours is still there. And if you grabbed anything from Viande à bas prix or Mini Danoise pastries lately, check the recall notices—some raw chicken and fish products missed cooking instructions, and some pastries have undeclared allergens.

For lunch or dinner, Il Teatro just opened in the Quartier des Spectacles if you're craving proper Roman pasta and wine—that's the kind of spot worth trying on a Friday. If you're thinking something lighter, the usual spots are solid.

Now, tonight's where it gets good. If you want to lean into something massive, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon is screening at Le Dome at both 5:30 and 7:00—that's the kind of thing that fills a room. Otherwise there's live music across the city: World of Soul at Le Balcon X Terrasse at 6:00, REVOCATION if you're into heavier stuff at Foufounes Electriques at 6:00. Pick your vibe and go. It's crisp out, but you'll be warm inside, and the evening's yours to own.

Get out there. Enjoy the light while it lasts.
