Saturday's cold but clear—pick your night out carefully.
Cooler air, high UV, and a packed evening lineup. Here's what matters before you head out.
It's dropped to 12 degrees overnight—a real shift from what we've had. Clear skies, though, and that UV's running high at 6.0, so if you're out in the daylight, sunscreen still counts even when it's chilly. Sun's down by 7:12, so you've got about thirteen hours before dark, which is plenty of time to move around.
If you're heading off the island or up the 40, keep your eyes open. The Honoré-Mercier, A-40, A-25, and Route 158 all have weekend closures happening. Nothing brand new, but worth checking before you leave—especially if you're crossing water or heading toward Laval. The Pont Pierre-Laporte is still closed through next Friday too, so northbound traffic's going to be a mess nightly if that's your route.
Up in Quebec City, the election debate's swinging hard on trade war fallout and immigration. The PQ's also floating a $130-million price tag for a referendum on independence, pencilled in for 2029 or 2030 if they get there. Retail theft's still making noise across the province—police and stores are running joint operations to try and dial it back.
If you're thinking food, Il Teatro's open in the Quartier des Spectacles now, doing proper Roman pasta and wine if you want to stay close and eat well. Before you hit the dep for anything packaged, heads up: Mini Danoise pastries are recalled for undeclared milk, eggs, and soya. Same goes for raw breaded chicken and fish at five Viande à bas prix locations—they're missing cooking instructions on the labels.
Tonight's the night if you want to move. There's a Pink Floyd immersion—*Dark Side of the Moon*—happening at Le Dome with two seatings (4:00 and 5:30), which hits different in a theatre. If you're into live rock, President's playing MTELUS at 6:00 with Cenobia and Showing Teeth. Want something warmer? Fiesta Cubana's on at Le Balcon X Terrasse at the same time—Yordan Martinez and TCMS doing their thing. Earlier, Serge Fiori's at Theatre St. Denis at 2:00 if you want a matinee, and Delano Smith's at SAT at 3:00 for something more experimental.
Stade Boréal in Laval's hosting HFX Wanderers against FC Supra at 4:00 if soccer's your thing.
Dress warm when you head out—it's proper fall now. See you out there.
