Wednesday's got teeth — bundle up and get out there.
7°C and mostly clear, sun sets early. Live music's calling. Watch the road work heading in.
It's dropped since yesterday — 7°C this morning, so close the lights on summer and grab a real jacket. Mostly cloudy but nothing dramatic. Sun's down by 6:24, which matters if you're heading out tonight, so plan around that. UV's low (3.0), so you're good there.
Heads up if you're commuting: there's road work on the go — réaménagement des voies is happening, so give yourself a few extra minutes depending on which route you take. Nothing catastrophic, but enough to slow you down if you're not expecting it.
Quick hits on what's moving in the city: the new PQ government's already talking closer collaboration with Montreal on housing and transit, which is worth paying attention to — could mean actual movement on stuff we've been waiting for. They're a minority though, so don't hold your breath for sweeping changes overnight. On the other side, immigration cuts are expected, but again, minority government complicates how fast any of that rolls out.
If you're eating out today, know that restaurants across Canada have been raising prices all year, and half are planning another round next year. Makes cooking at home look better every day, right? That said, if you're craving something, Il Teatro just opened in the Quartier des Spectacles — bringing proper Rome vibes with Italian wine and pasta. Fair warning on recalls though: there's a frozen dessert recall expanding out of Victoriaville (undeclared allergens), and Sakana-Ya Sushi has a recall on products across Quebec for undeclared mustard. Check what you've got in the fridge if you picked either of those up recently.
One more thing if you're owed money: there's a Canadian plant-based milk settlement and you can claim thousands, but the clock's running out — don't sleep on it.
Tonight's got real options if you want to get out. Metric and Broken Social Scene are at Place Bell at 7:00 — proper indie rock night. Teddy Swims is at Centre Bell (6:00 or 7:00 depending on which show you catch). Lenny Pearce is at MTELUS at 6:00 if comedy's your move. Hockey-wise, Newfoundland Regiment plays Blainville-Boisbriand at Centre d'Excellence Sports Rousseau at 7:00 if you're into that.
Bundle up, watch for the road work, and get out there — Wednesday's got some living in it.
