Clear and crisp—get outside while the sun's still there.

Cool Saturday, no transit drama, and live music across the city tonight. Eat smart, watch the recalls.

Clear and crisp—get outside while the sun's still there.

It's 4°C this morning and clear—a proper fall day. You'll want a jacket, but the sun's coming through and it's worth stepping out for. We're down to just over eleven hours of daylight now, so sunset hits at 6:18 PM. Plan your evening accordingly; once it drops, it drops fast. UV's at 4, which is moderate, so you're fine without heavy sun protection, but the cold's the thing to dress for today.

No major transit headaches—the réaménagement des voies construction's ongoing, but Saturday traffic's lighter anyway. You're sorted getting around.

Quick heads-up on food: if you've been to Marché Sultan on Rue Jarry recently for hummus, check what you bought—there's a recall over possible E. coli. Same story with a frozen dessert recall from a Victoriaville shop (undeclared allergens) and Sakana-Ya Sushi across Quebec (mustard not declared). Worth a look in your fridge if any of those landed there.

There's also a bigger picture worth knowing—restaurants across Canada raised prices hard in 2026, and half are planning more hikes next year. Brunch might pinch a little more than it used to.

Tonight's got something for everyone. If you're into live music, there's Worry at Bar Le Ritz PDB at 7:30, or Edward Scissorhands in Concert at Place des Arts—same time, totally different vibe. Louis-Jose Houde's at Théâtre Mauvnie at 8:00 if comedy's your thing. And if you want something completely different, Thunder From Down Under is on at the Cabaret du Casino de Montréal, also 7:30.

For the soccer crowd, FC Supra's playing Vancouver FC at Stade Boréale (that's the old Complexe Multi-Sports de Laval) at 4:00 PM—afternoon game, so you can catch it before the evening plans.

One more thing: twelve dogs rescued from a South Korean dog meat farm are now in rehabilitation near Montreal. It's a small piece of good news in a week that's had layoffs and workplace incidents making headlines. Worth noting.

Weather's holding clear through the evening, so if you're heading out, the conditions are on your side. Just don't forget the coat—it's staying cold.

Cheers. Get out there.
