Rain's here, Habs are home—bundle up and catch the vibe

Morning. It's 6 degrees and light rain's moving in—we're under a rainfall warning, so keep an eye on the skies today. Sunset's at 6:13, which means you've got a solid 11 hours of daylight before things go dark. UV's low, so that's not a concern, but bring a jacket and maybe an umbrella if you're heading out.

For getting around, there's ongoing lane réaménagement happening on the streets, so if you're driving or taking the bus, give yourself a couple extra minutes. Nothing major today, but worth knowing.

A heads-up on food: if you shop at Marché Sultan on Rue Jarry, skip the hummus for now—there's a recall over possible E. coli. Same goes for any Sakana-Ya sushi you might grab; their products have undeclared mustard in them. Just be careful where you're eating from today. Restaurants across the city have been hiking prices all year, and half of them are planning more increases next year, so if you're eating out tonight, expect it to hit a little harder.

On the local side, Jean-Luc Mongrain—the journalist who's been a fixture here—passed away at 75 after cancer complications. Worth knowing. There's also news about measles exposure at the airport and Sainte-Justine ER, so if you've got kids or you're immunocompromised, take a minute to check if you were near either spot recently.

Tonight's the thing. The Habs are home—Buffalo Sabres at Centre Bell, puck drops at 6:30. If hockey's your thing, that's where to be. But if you'd rather stay dry indoors and catch something different, there's solid live music happening: Jazz Sessions au Balcon at Le Balcon at 7 PM, or if you're in the mood for Broadway, Mamma Mia! opens at Place des Arts at 7:30. Colin Lynch is doing Buffalo Traffic Jam at Beanfield Theatre at 8 if you want something looser. Rain outside means venues feel warmer—this is the night to catch live music.

Bundle up for the commute, watch the wet streets, and find your way indoors for the evening. See you on the other side of the day.
