Friday night's got range — rain won't stop the city.
7°C and wet out there. Highway 25 tunnel closes tonight. Plenty to do if you're heading out.
Bundle up — it's 7°C and rain all day, so you're looking at a damp commute. Sunset's at 6:07 PM, so if you've got evening plans, plan around dark hitting early. UV's low at 1.0, so the wet's the thing to watch, not the sun.
If you're driving out of the city toward the East End or heading to the South Shore via the tunnel, heads up: Highway 25 closes tonight as they keep working on the tunnel ceiling. Plan around it if that's your usual route — add time or take the scenic way.
Couples things worth knowing this morning. There's been a surge in break-ins up in Montreal-North — 187 in September alone — so if you're in that part of the city, lock up tight and keep an eye on the usual spots. Also worth noting: if you shop at Marché Sultan on Rue Jarry, don't use their hummus right now — E. coli recall. Same goes if you grabbed freeze-dried fruit sticks from Néo Chips lately (possible stem fragments), or anything from that Montreal-North bakery that just recalled all their products over wood contamination. Check your fridge before dinner.
Restaurants across the board are hiking prices — 80% of Canadian spots raised them this year, and half are planning to do it again next year. Worth knowing when you're booking a table.
For food tonight, you've got options. If you want to keep it simple before heading out, grab a trio somewhere. The usual spots are solid on a Friday, and honestly, it beats cooking when the weather's like this.
Evening's got real range if you want to get out. The Black Keys are at Place Bell at 7:30 PM if you're in the mood for rock — that's a solid Friday night move. If Broadway's your thing, Mamma Mia! is also at Place des Arts at the same time. Want something looser? Steve Angello's playing Parc Jean-Drapeau at 5:00 PM, and there's live music scattered across the city all night — Tokyo Tea Room's got something on at Bar Le Ritz PDB at 7:30 if you want to stay closer to home. Rain means you'll want indoor spots, which honestly works out fine.
There's also Inter Toronto FC taking on FC Supra at Complexe Multi-Sports de Laval at 7:00 PM if soccer's your thing.
Stay dry out there — Friday's still Friday, rain or not.
