Clear skies, early dark, and Olivia Rodrigo's got the Bell tonight.

Cold start to the day — dress in layers, watch the roads, and plan around some road work across the city.

Clear skies, early dark, and Olivia Rodrigo's got the Bell tonight.

It's crisp out there this morning: 4°C and clear skies, which means you'll want the jacket. Good news is the sun's actually shining, but heads up — the sun's down by 5:57 PM, so your whole day's wrapped by early evening. UV's sitting at 3, so you're fine without SPF if you're just moving between places, but if you're out for a proper walk on the Mountain or anywhere open, a bit won't hurt.

Bit of road work to know about today — there's chaussée réfection happening, so depending where you're headed, leave a few extra minutes. Nothing catastrophic, but the usual slowdowns you'd expect midweek. Nothing's closed outright that's going to kill your commute, just the grinding kind of work that makes everything a bit slower.

Few things worth knowing as you move through the day. There was a pedestrian struck by an SUV near the airport in Dorval yesterday — tragic, and a reminder to take it slow if you're heading out that way. Separately, there's been another vehicle incident on the South Shore in Longueuil involving someone with disabilities. Things are heavy this week on the roads, so just keep your head up whether you're driving or walking.

If you're thinking about grabbing something to eat, a heads-up on recalls: Boulangerie Richard's got pâtés pulled from shelves over undeclared wheat and fish allergens. A Montreal-North bakery's recalled all their products over possible wood contamination. There's also freeze-dried fruit sticks from Néo Chips and hummus from Marché Sultan on Rue Jarry that are flagged. Nothing emergency, but worth checking your fridge if you've grabbed any of those lately.

Tonight's got some energy if you're up for it. Olivia Rodrigo's at the Bell with Wolf Alice — show starts at 7 PM, and if you're into that world, it's the main event. Smaller scale, there's james K at Theatre Fairmount at 7 too if you want something more intimate. Or if you just want live music and a drink somewhere, the city's got options scattered around.

Weather's holding decent through the evening, so getting downtown or anywhere for a show is fine — just don't linger outside too long once the sun drops. Word is November's bringing snow early, so enjoy the clear skies while they last. This is the last easy weather window for a bit.

Stay warm out there.
