First Fridays is back for another summer season at Montreal's Olympic Stadium, bringing together more than 50 food trucks and vendors for the largest street food gathering in Canada.
What started in 2012 as an idea by food lovers Guy Vincent Melo and Gaëlle Cerf has grown into a monthly celebration held on the first Friday of each summer month. The festival goes beyond just eating—each month spotlights a different culture, showcasing international cuisine, music, and traditions while creating a platform for immigrant communities and emerging artists.
Organizers have made sustainability a core focus. The event bans single-use plastics, reduces food waste, and encourages visitors to arrive by metro, bus, or bicycle. Festival sites now run on hydroelectricity, cutting reliance on generators. The result is a celebration of Montreal's diversity powered responsibly.
If you're looking for an evening out that combines global flavours, live music, and community energy, this is the weekend ritual to build into your summer plans.
