Super Plage — Montreal producer and DJ Jules Henry's electronic pop project — will open the 19th Osheaga festival on Friday, July 31 at 2 p.m. on Île Ste-Hélène. The honour sets him apart before major names like Lorde, Turnstile, The xx, Geese and Zara Larsson take the main stages across the weekend.

Henry has spent the last six years cycling between winters in his studio and summers on the road, releasing three albums alongside numerous singles that pulse with house and electronic dance rhythms. His music carries an unmistakable summer energy — the kind that soundtracks pool days and sun-drenched afternoons. He collaborated recently with Montreal musician Virginie B on "Pool Party," a track with flowing basslines and crisp cymbal work that sits on his upcoming album Mini Club, due October 23.

For Henry, Osheaga marks a full circle moment. "It's my first time at Osheaga — both as an artist and as a festivalier," he said. "I'm going to be able to go see my good friend Virginie B, who plays the next day." He'll be performing alongside three musicians: Sunthy Williams-Prom Tep on piano, Eugène Beringer on trumpet, and Anthony Aka on guitar.

Mini Club continues the thread of his previous album Grosse Maison (spring 2025), which featured collaborations with Virginie B, L'Isle (Ariana Brunet), Claudia Bouvette and others. The festival appearance signals his growing place in Montreal's electronic and pop music scene ahead of the album's fall release.
