A two-part documentary miniseries is in the works to follow Longueuil mayor Catherine Fournier's life as she balances new motherhood with her public role.

Directed by Mélissa Beaudet—known for the series Écoles sous pression—the two 52-minute episodes will air on ICI Tou.tv's Extra platform during the 2026-2027 season.

Fournier announced her pregnancy during last fall's municipal election campaign, deliberately choosing transparency over concealment. "Des proches m'ont demandé si j'allais annoncer la bonne nouvelle après les élections, mais il n'était pas question pour moi de me demander chaque matin ce que j'allais porter pour éviter que ça paraisse!" she told La Presse in September. "I wanted to be transparent. A pregnancy is not something you have to hide."

She gave birth to her son Henri in April and has continued working "essentially from home," she recently noted on social media while introducing her cabinet members.

The documentary marks a rare glimpse into the intersection of municipal governance and contemporary parenting—how a sitting mayor manages leadership duties alongside the realities of caring for an infant. It's the kind of intimate public narrative rarely captured on screen in Quebec.
