Divers searched the Gatineau River on Wednesday without finding William (Bill) Lidington, a 78-year-old Chelsea man missing since Sunday. The MRC des Collines police said the land-and-water search that began Monday has ended, though the investigation remains active.

Lidington has a neurocognitive health condition. He was last seen around 3 p.m. Sunday on Hellard Road near his Chelsea home. Early clues suggested he may have ventured into the river, but police said they have not ruled out the possibility that Lidington went elsewhere on foot.

Anyone with information about Lidington's whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Catherine Madore of MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais police at 819-459-2422 ext. 4203.
