Montreal Victoire one win from Walter Cup championship
Women's hockey team takes 2–0 series lead over Ottawa with OT victory
The Montreal Victoire are on the brink of winning the Professional Women's Hockey League's Walter Cup after defeating the Ottawa Charge 2–1 in overtime in Game 2 of the finals on Saturday. Maggie Flaherty scored the winner 14:12 into OT, converting Marie-Philip Poulin's pass in the slot past goaltender Gwyneth Philips. With the victory, Montreal now leads the best-of-five series 2–0 after winning Game 1 Thursday night, also in overtime by a 3–2 score. Ottawa faces elimination when the series shifts to the nation's capital for Game 3 on Monday.
