Quebec will invest $2.7 million in Égale Action, the organization dedicated to building equity for women and girls in sports.

The funding will be distributed over three years — $725,000 annually from 2026–27 through 2028–29 — allowing the organization to deepen its work on valuation, education, and leadership development. An additional $500,000 for 2026–27 will support the launch of Passeport actif au féminin, a new program designed to boost women's participation.

"Since Égale Action began encouraging female participation and supporting female leaders, women have steadily gained ground in Quebec's sports system," said Kariane Bourassa, minister responsible for sport and leisure. "This investment confirms the government's commitment to building a sports landscape where women are represented, recognized, and served equitably."

Égale Action has spent 25 years working to make Quebec's sports system more inclusive, equitable, and welcoming to girls and women at every level of competition and governance.
